For Such A Time
As This

Jesus, Savior of My Soul

My first Christmas after my mega encounter with God was so different than what I had experienced previously. I used to think that because I'd never killed anybody, I was cool with God. And so, Christmastime was about buying people gifts and thinking of others. And of course, all of the Christmas festivities. But it was never about Jesus!

But not this time. God had so dramatically poured out His Spirit on me that past September, that this first year with God was such a treat! I got to hang out with God AND actually thank Jesus, myself, for coming to Earth and being the Savior of my soul. And that is the clincher right there - I got to tell Him myself. Wow!

I just want you to know that wherever you're at, God is with you...guiding you toward Him and the Love that He has for you; and I pray that Holy Spirit showers you with His divine peaceful presence just so you know how real God really is!

So, for this Christmas season, let's continue to remember to tell Him ourselves: how thankful we are for Him  - Jesus - the Savior of our souls.

We love Him because He first loved us.

PRAYER:
Dear Jesus,

We want to tell you ourselves, Thank You! for coming to planet Earth. I can speak for myself that I didn't even know I needed you because I actually thought I was good enough. LOL and LOL! But when you revealed how Holy You are, God, well...it was over. Guilty as charged. And then Jesus, for the very first time, I realized what you did for me. You took my place to die for my own sins (yes, I didn't even realize I was a sinner!). And then, you poured out Your Heavenly Love I didn't know existed  - THANK YOU, God!!

To think a baby born in a manger would grow up to die for the sins of all mankind, and then be resurrected and crowned with Glory - that's absolutely incredible! And here we are today. This is not a fairy tale, but reality.

Please, please, please Lord, open up the heart of whoever is reading this right now. Where there is hardness, please soften. Where their is pain, please heal. Where there is darkness, shine Your light, and where there is nothing, please, God, bring You. And whoever already knows and celebrates You, let Your grace continue over them! We don't deserve you not even one tiny bit and yet, You love us so, so much!

Wherever any of us is at in our journey with You, may You encourage, uplift, protect, guide, and unveil our eyes to see Your perfect love all over our lives. Literally, God, may we sense You in magnificent and powerful ways!

In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen!

FAITH IN ACTION:

As we continue to read through the first four books of the New Testament, notice how many people God revealed Himself to and how imperfect they all were; He revealed Himself to the most unsuspecting people. And while reading, let's ask the Lord to do something special in our hearts: to continue to bring us closer to Him in real and transformative ways. We are changed from  Glory to Glory only by Him alone!

And let's always remember...we can talk to Him ourselves - Merry Christmas!
